Baptisms

We welcome people of any age for baptism. Whatever age you are it is the start of a life-long journey and commitment to follow Christ.
Your questions answered:

When do baptisms take place?
Normally during the 9.45 Sunday morning service when everyone meets together for worship. We promise to support and pray for those to be baptized.

Who can be baptized at All Saints’?
Normally those who live in the part of High Wycombe which All Saints’ Church serves and those outside this geographical area who worship regularly at All Saints.

How do I find out if I live in the area?
Please contact the Parish Office on 01494 527526 or email or click here.  If you live in another part of the town we would encourage you to contact your local church.

How do I arrange a baptism?
Please contact the Parish Office and our administrator will pass on your enquiry. We will phone you to talk about your request.

What else do I need to do?
You will be asked to fill in a form so that details can be entered in the Baptism Register.  You will be invited to attend some preparations sessions and to meet afterwards. You will have the opportunity to think about the commitment you are making for yourself or your child and ask any questions.

How will I know what to do on the day?
One of the sessions is a rehearsal in church and you will be guided by the priest who is leading the service.

Who can be a godparent?
The Church of England requires all godparents to have been baptized themselves. They do not have to be members of the Church of England.

We hope this answers some of your questions and we look forward to talking to you about this important event.
