And cook up some festive treats to enjoy at home

Apple & Cinnamon Cake
Makes on 20cm (8 inch) cake
Ingredients
  • 300g (10oz) self-raising flour
  • 1½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 250g (8oz) demerara sugar
  • 50g (2oz) raisins
  • 125g (4oz) butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 170mls (6 fl. oz.) milk
  • 250g (8oz) desert apples, peeled, cored and chopped
  • Icing sugar for dredging
 Method
  • Sift the flour and cinnamon into a bowl and stir in the sugar and raisins.  Mix in the melted butter, eggs, milk and apples and beat until smooth.
  • Turn into a lined and greased 20cm (8 inch) square cake tin. 
  • ​Bake in a preheated moderate oven, 180°C (350°F), Gas Mark 4, for 1 to 1¼ hours, until the cake springs back when lightly pressed.
  • Turn onto a wire rack to cool then sprinkle with icing sugar through a doily with a festive design​

Reindeer Tiffin
​Makes 12

Ingredients 
  • 150g Butter, cut into cubes 
  • 3tbsp caster sugar 
  • 3tbsp golden syrup 
  • 6tbsp cocoa powder 
  • 225g  biscuits crushed (mixture of Digestives and Rich Tea work well) 
  • Handful of dried cranberries or other dried fruit 
  • 110g Milk Chocolate 
  • 110g Dark Chocolate 
  • 6 Glace Cherries cut in half 
  • Chocolate covered Pretzels 
  • Icing Eyes (or use 50g white chocolate melted) 
 ​Method
  • Line a 12 hole muffin tin with paper cases. 
  • Melt the butter, sugar, syrup and cocoa powder in a large saucepan. 
  • Once melted stir in the crushed biscuits and berries. 
  • Divide between the 12 paper cases and pack down well. Then place in the fridge. 
  • Break the milk and dark chocolate into a bowl and melt in the microwave in 20 second bursts. 
  • Take the paper cases out of the fridge and spoon the melted chocolate over each cake.
  • Decorate each cake with 2 chocolate pretzel antlers, Icing eyes and half a glace cherry for Rudolf’s nose.
  • ​Place back in the fridge and allow to set for at least 2 hours ​

Strawberry Santas

Ingredients
  • some medium/large strawberries
  • whipped cream in a piping bag or small plastic bag.
Method
  • Cut the leaves off the strawberry to create a flat base
  • Stand the strawberry on the base and cut the point off to make a hat
  • Pipe a large "beard" of cream on the base and buttons on Santa's jacket
  • Put on his hat and pipe on a pompom & you can add edible eyes if you like
