It’s best to
book about a month in advance as the church is used during the week for funerals
and other services. However, we can sometimes fit people in at shorter notice.

The grassy
churchyard is often used by those working in the town centre for picnics. If you
are travelling some distance we may be able to arrange use of the church hall
for lunch though there may be a small charge for this facility.

Our visits are
completely free but we always appreciate any donations to the church.

There are no
toilets on site but All Saints’ church hall can be made available to school
visits or alternatively the public conveniences are very close.

We have a limited
range of postcards of the church which can be useful for children doing project
work. These retail at approximately thirty pence.

We have a limited
amount of car-parking space for disabled access but ewe are unable to offer
Coach parking. If you plan on travelling by coach, please ask Sarah for details
of suitable drop-off places.

Enter the church
by the main South doors which face onto the high street. You will be met as you
enter the church.

If
you are wanting to use the worksheets we provide it is advisable to bring a
clipboard and pen/pencil for each child. Photography is permitted in the church
so you may wish to bring a camera.

Teachers should
stay with their group. They will not necessarily be expected to give any input
to these sessions, although it is good if supervising adults can offer some help
with the worksheet work especially with younger children. During the visit,
teachers will, of course, be responsible for the control and supervision of
their group.

If you decide not
to have a formal visit but prefer to work with your children yourself, please
still make a formal booking. By negotiating a date and booking it through us you
are ensured that the building will be free of major events.
