A place for our
whole community to encounter God

A church which works to reveal God today, as Jesus did
We will encourage people to encounter God and to
recognise God's love in their everyday lives. We will:
- offer a varied range of worship styles embracing
the traditional and contemporary.
- maintain areas of the church as quiet places,
offering opportunities for reflection and guided prayer.
- offer healing and wholeness in the power of the
Holy Spirit.
- encourage the expression and celebration of
creativity through the arts.
We will accompany people in their faith journey,
offering nurture, befriending and spirtual guidance. We will:
- reach out to our community, focusing on people who
are not actively involved in church life.
- provide teaching and nurture to encourage one
another in our life-long learning.
- encourage one another to develop a regular pattern
of prayer and reflection as a follower of Jesus.
We will be engaged in God's mission with a sense of
social justice and witness to his truth. We will:
- support local projects, actively
encourage our members’ participation and celebrate local achievement.
- seek to act responsibly as stewards of God’s
creation in areas of global concern.
- commit to working for community cohesion,
alongside people of all faiths and none.
We will be welcoming and passionate about God and play
a full part in our community. We will:
- proclaim that God is involved in all aspects of
our lives.
- welcome adults and children equally at worship and
other events.
- celebrate and mourn with people in their key life
events.
- value people as individuals, and challenge the
pursuit of material gain to the detriment of our common humanity.
We will develop our existing leadership and seek to
discern new leaders. We will:
- support and encourage people in their daily
ministry as followers of Christ.
- seek to recognise each other’s skills and help
people to exercise their particular gifts.
- endeavour to equip and enable people to fulfil
their roles and will demonstrate our trust in them.
- commission people for those roles for which they
are sent out to minister.
