Children & Vulnerable Adults Policy
As a community of faith, we consider the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults to be a key part of our mission and ministry. As such, we will always respond to any concerns in compliance with UK statute and guidance.
Principles
As part of the Diocese of Oxford, we abide by the guidelines laid out in the Diocesan Safeguarding Handbook.
Principles
- All children, young people and adults have rights to feel safe and to be protected from humiliating and degrading treatment; this includes all forms of abuse and neglect.
- Children and young people are unable to protect themselves and are dependent on adults to ensure their welfare needs are met
- Some adults are unable to care for themselves and are vulnerable, sometimes due to transient circumstances or illness, occasionally as a result of aging.
- The Church has a legal and moral and Christian duty to ensure all those living within the community are safe and protected
As part of the Diocese of Oxford, we abide by the guidelines laid out in the Diocesan Safeguarding Handbook.
